Hey, great starter list!
I’ll add a couple more tips from my own experience for anyone just getting into toys:
  • Noise matters – if you live with others or in an apartment, quieter models make it more stress-free.
  • Test the shape – sometimes a comfortable grip is more important than extra settings.
  • Store it right – keep your toy in a clean pouch or case so lint and dust don’t stick to it.
And yes, cleaning is huge — I’ve seen so many people skip this or use the wrong soap.
I actually put together a full Beginner Vibrator Guide with cleaning steps, storage tips, and my top 3 picks if you want to check it out:

Vibrators 101: First Toy Advice + 5 Common Mistakes

New to toys? Start slow and safe. Here are my quick-start tips:
  • Pick a small bullet or slim vibe for your first.
  • Choose body-safe silicone or ABS plastic.
  • Use water-based lube (better for toys and skin).
  • Clean before & after: mild soap + warm water.
  • Don’t chase power — comfort comes first.
